Calls are available from a direct message. Open Chat, select a direct message, then choose Audio call or Video call in its header.

Prepare for a call

The pre-call screen lets you choose and test the available microphone, camera, and speaker. Turn the camera off before joining when you want an audio-only start. If a device is unavailable, check its operating-system permission and whether another application is using it.

For an incoming call, choose Accept or Decline from the call prompt.

Use the in-call controls

During a call, use the call bar to:

  • mute or unmute the microphone;
  • turn the camera on or off;
  • choose the active speaker when that control is available;
  • start or stop screen sharing;
  • show or hide captions; or
  • end the call.

The operating system asks for screen-recording permission before Omeruta can share a display or window. After granting it, you may need to choose the source again.

Use captions and caption translation

Captions transcribe speech locally with an installed speech model. Caption translation is available when a multilingual model and translation settings support the spoken and target languages. Check the selected caption language if the output does not match the speaker.

Review missed calls

Missed-call notifications appear in the Work inbox when the account and organization services are available. Open the notification to identify the caller, then return to the direct message before starting another call.
