Shared documents and shared spaces

Sharing lets organization members work with a document or a collection of files. You must sign in before shared content can load.

Share an open document

Open a supported document and select Share document.

  1. Choose an organization member.
  2. Assign Read, Edit, or Owner access.
  3. When appropriate, allow an editor to manage sharing.
  4. Confirm the invitation.

Read access permits viewing. Edit access permits changes. Owner access includes ownership-level sharing controls. Only grant management access to someone who should be able to change the document's member list.

Shared documents appear under the built-in shared documents folder. The role shown beside an entry describes your access to it.

Open and edit a shared document

Select a document under shared documents to open it. Editing controls are limited when your role is Read. If the document is already open elsewhere, Omeruta reuses its open document tab.

Open the sharing controls to review members or change access when your role allows it. Removing a member stops that member's access; stopping sharing is an owner action and affects everyone who received access.

Share a folder as a space

Open a folder's context menu and choose Share Space to share a collection instead of one document. Select organization members and their roles, then confirm the space.

A shared space can contain folders and supported files. Depending on your role, you can browse, create, add, or import files in the space. Read-only members can open content but cannot use editing actions.

Sharing sends the selected content to your organization's collaboration service. Review the members and the material before granting access.
