Navigate Omeruta

Omeruta has two navigation areas on the left. The narrow vertical sidebar switches views and opens panels. The wider file panel beside it is where you browse files in the active workspace.

Browse the file panel

The Notes, Code, and Design tabs belong to the file panel. They filter the file tree; they do not switch the main workspace or move your files.

• Notes shows note-oriented and general workspace entries. It also contains the built-in Tutorial & documentation root. When you are signed in, shared documents appears here as well.
• Code shows code-oriented entries.
• Design shows design-oriented entries.

The Design tab above the file panel is different from the Design icon in the vertical sidebar: the tab filters files, while the icon opens the Design view in the main workspace.

Select Create file or folder above the tree to open the create menu. Select Show folder preview to add a second, resizable pane showing the contents of the previewed folder. Select a folder in that preview pane to show its contents, or select Hide folder preview to close the pane.

Work with editor tabs

Each open file has a tab above the editor:

• Select a tab to make it active.
• Select its close button to close it.
• Use Back and Forward to move through that pane's file-navigation history when those buttons are available.
• Select New tab to open a blank Untitled tab.
• Select Tab actions for commands that affect several tabs.
• Right-click a file tab to find Open in Split View and Close Tab.

Make room for your work

• Select Collapse Sidebar near the top-left of the window to hide the file panel and its Notes/Code/Design tabs. The vertical sidebar remains visible. Select Expand Sidebar to restore the file panel.
• Select Desktop View beside the sidebar control to replace the regular file panel with a visual workspace. When a file is open, its editor remains beside the visual workspace. Select Desktop View again to leave it. If the regular file panel is still hidden, select Expand Sidebar.
• In the normal editor, press Command-\ on macOS or Ctrl+\ on Windows to open or close a split editor when a file is open.
